For many years my husband and I had holidayed in Turkey and Goa, and in September 2002 we decided on a change of scene, so we took a holiday in North Cyprus.

At the time we had the common dream of a holiday home in the sun, so it was natural to look in estate agents windows. On one of these occasions we were approached by the agent and taken inside to chat. We then returned home 2 weeks later owning 1 donum of olive grove (approx. one third of an acre).

Over the next 2 years, with help from the estate agent who was with us all the way, we saw our dream become a reality. The whole process was painless, in September 2005 just 3 years after buying an olive grove we left our respective jobs, sold our house in the UK, packed our container, got the pet passports and moved across to a completed home (all utilities in place).

That agency was one branch of the estate agent I now work for: Fraser Meridies.

Lorraine Boak – Sales Negotiator

I had been coming to Northern Cyprus on and off for family holidays since 1987 to visit my parents and finally decided to relocate permanently in 2002 after my father fell ill. Feeling the need to look after him the decision to move was made easier, already knowing the island so well.

Previously in the UK I had gained years of experience in the hotel and b&b industries as well as silver service banqueting and had studied hotel management since 1987. I subsequently ended up running a bed and breakfast business which led me to be a very customer focussed individual being in constant contact with guests on a daily basis and I really enjoyed the task of meeting people’s needs and making them feel at home during their stay with us.

I joined the team at Fraser Meridies in August 2009 as a part time Sales Assistant working in the evenings following up property enquiries from clients in the UK and the rest of Europe as well giving out sales information to people looking to buy a holiday home in the sun. I am now full time as a Sales Negotiator and relish the task of finding that ideal home for my clients.

The island holds many happy memories for me and I enjoy the lifestyle that the Mediterranean way of living brings – it can be a challenge to adjust oneself in a foreign country but once you have been here a few years you somehow learn to deal with differences in culture and embrace the different way of life! Melek Meter, Rentals Manager

I was born in London and came to North Cyprus in 1991 to visit my relations and I ended up meeting my future husband! I obviously then decided to stay here in North Cyprus and do not regret doing so for one moment.

Once you start living in sunny North Cyprus there is no way you would ever dream of going back!

Since living here I have worked for an airline, a tour company and as a rentals representative for a North Cyprus developer. I was subsequently offered a job working for Fraser Meridies as Rentals Manager which I enjoy very much. I meet lots of people and have made plenty of contacts within the property rental sector which enables me to find the best properties available.

Ercan Cetinli – Sales & Rental Negotiator & Maintenance Manager

I was born in Bulgaria and moved to North Cyprus with my family in 1997. After arriving in Cyprus, I completed military service and then applied for a job with Fraser & Co. I have now worked with the company for two years.

With Fraser & Co. and Meridies Homes merging, I am really excited to now be working for FraserMeridies, because I relish the opportunity to meet new people and help them settle down in North Cyprus.

I am involved with both rentals and sales and therefore have a good understanding of the general market. I also deal with property management and therefore have experience with utility companies, tax offices and other such services, on a daily basis. I would be pleased to use this knowledge to provide find a house to live in, a rental investment or even just manage your current property portfolio.

Rachel Milne – Office Manager

Originally arriving in North Cyprus on a five month sabbatical from the UK to help my parents renovate and rebuild their old Cypriot home I have not looked back since! I fell in love with the country and its people and the pace of life was, and still is, much more appealing! Originally working as a Communications Manager and PA for high street stalwart Woolworths at their Head Office in London, I was offered a dream job here in North Cyprus working for a monthly magazine working on local features, learning all about the colourful and vibrant island of Cyprus.

Sadly the magazine closed down in 2006 and I then worked for a property company based out of the UK for two years, acting as hostess and liaison for UK based customers arriving on the island. I then started to write and produce a new website on North Cyprus which acts as a guide to holidaying and living in North Cyprus – www.essentialcyprus.com.

Knowing that Fraser Meridies is one of the top real estate offices in North Cyprus I was very happy to join them as Office Manager in October 2009. I have since been busy putting my skills to use in all sorts of ways such as accounts, marketing, sales, administration and support! It’s a busy office in a great environment and it’s very satisfying to be able to help people find the perfect property here in sunny North Cyprus!
