North Cyprus Hotel Accommodation
North Cyprus offers a wide range of hotels, from basic clean Cypriot style, to 5 star luxury. There are small holiday complexes to large family resorts. They all offer differing facilities such as swimming pools, restaurants and on-site shops.
The location of your hotel, holiday complex or resort will define what you can do without the aid of a hire car or public transport. (Activities, recreation, business, sightseeing, shopping etc).
Whether it is business or pleasure, for those more interested in seeing Kyrenia (Girne in Turkish) there are hotels that are located close to and around the city centre. Most of the hotels are located close to one of the most popular attractions in Kyrenia, the historic harbour. It is here that you can sample the delights of both Turkish Cypriot and international cuisine and watch the world go by.
One of the most notable hotels in the town centre of Kyrenia is The Dome Hotel. Opened in 1939, this old-established colonial hotel has an outdoor seawater pool carved out of the rock, and its own casino.
The hotel with the best views of the old harbour in Kyrenia is The British Hotel. This family-owned and run establishment is in a unique location, with most rooms featuring a balcony or terrace with superb views of Kyrenia Castle, the old harbour and Five Finger mountains.
Only five minutes walk from the old harbour is The Rocks Hotel & Casino. Recently extended The Rocks has elegantly appointed rooms and several excellent restaurants.

Beaches in North Cyprus
These hotels are located right on the beach or very close by, with many having their own private beach. This is the type of hotel where you want to wake up to the lovely Mediterranean sunrise and enjoy a drink, watching the spectacular sunsets of North Cyprus. If you are a beach person then these are the hotels for you, with the clear azure Mediterranean sea right on your door step. However if you want to visit places of interest or do some shopping then you will obviously need some form of transport.
One of the newest such hotels is The Mercure, located in Kervansaray, just 6 km from Kyrenia town centre. This 5 star hotel has almost 300 bedrooms, and boasts both a Wellness Centre and a casino, as well as a number of conference facilities and top restaurants.
North Cyprus Mountains
Mountain hotels and holiday complexes are for those who like to get away from it all and enjoy the spectacular views of the Northern Cyprus coast while set against the backdrop of the stunning Kyrenia Mountain range. You will probably need your own hire car if you stay in this type of hotel as transportation can be a little difficult to these places.
If you don`t mind trekking then walking to catch public transport may be for you. However, please be aware that the summer sun here is very hot and this may not be the best thing to do. These hotels do however provide cooler evenings in the hot North Cyprus summer. Why not enjoy a relaxing sunny day on the beach and then return to your mountain retreat to enjoy the cooling evening breeze?
Ercan (pronounced ‘Erjan’) is the main international airport in Northern Cyprus, and is currently serviced by five air lines from the UK – Cyprus Turkish Airlines (KTHY), Turkish Airlines, and most recently Pegasus, Atlasjet and SunExpress.
For information on all flights in and out of Ercan airport please contact (0090) 392 231 4806 or click on the links for the airlines. There are regular flights from and to the London airports Heathrow and Stansted plus flights from and to Manchester. In summer months there are also flights from and to London Gatwick and Birmingham.
There are currently no direct flights between Europe and the TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) and all planes must first touch down in Turkey before proceeding to the TRNC, stopping variously at Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, Gaziantep and Dalaman.
The number of airlines and UK destinations do vary from one year to another, and even from season to season, so it is sensible to check with one of Fraser Meridies’ customer service team members on firstname.lastname@example.org
